Prof. Dr. Oğuz Kürşat Ünal is one of Turkey’s leading academics in the fields of commercial law, capital markets law, and corporate law. He served as a faculty member at Gazi University Faculty of Law for many years and conducted extensive research on commercial law and capital markets throughout his academic career.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, Ünal graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law. Having completed his PhD in private law at Gazi University, Ünal earned the titles of associate professor and professor during his academic career, undertaking many important academic and administrative roles. He registered with the Ankara Bar Association and worked as a freelance lawyer, and he currently provides legal support to Ünal Law Firm as a registered member of the Ankara Bar Association.

Having carried out academic studies in the United States (University of Michigan Law School) and the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Ünal has authored many books and articles on subjects such as commercial law, securities, brokerage firms, and publicly traded joint-stock companies. His works, such as “Securities”, “Capital Markets Law and Legislation”, and “Invoice and Evidentiary Value”, are considered important resources in both the academic world and legal practice.

In addition to his academic career, Prof. Dr. Ünal has undertaken legal consultancy and expert witness duties, contributing to public and private sector institutions with his expert opinions in the field of commercial law and capital markets.
